Vipaumbele vya JK na Malengo ya Milenia
Kwa mujibu wa rais Kikwete, kuna mambo 11 ambayo atayasimamia kwa ukaribu zaidi katika kipindi cha miaka mitano kama atachaguliwa kuwa Rais.
Raia anasema vipaumbele vyake vitakuwa ni kuwa na taifa lenye umoja, amani na usalama na kuendelea kuimarisha Muungano, kujenga misingi ya uchumi wa kisasa kwa kuleta mapinduzi ya kilimo, ufugaji, uvuvi na viwanda, kuongeza jitihada za kuwawezesha kiuchumi wananchi wa hali ya chini, kuifanya Tanzania kuwa lango kuu la biashara na usafirishaji kwa nchi za Afrika Mashariki, Kusini na Kati, kuongeza jitihada za kuhakikisha taifa linanufaika na rasilimali za asili za nchi, kuboresha elimu ya msingi na sekondari na kupanua elimu ya ufundi na elimu ya juu na kuboresha na kupanua huduma muhimu za jamii hasa za afya maji na umeme, miundombinu ya mawasiliano na fedha.
Vipaumbele vingine ni kuimarisha utawala bora, utawala wa sheria na demokrasia, kuipa dola na vyombo vyake uwezo mkubwa wa kupanga mipango ya kiuchumi na kusimamia uchumi wa nchi kwa ufanisi, kulinda mafanikio yaliyofikiwa katika nyanja zote tangu uhuru, kuimarisha mahusiano baina ya Tanzania na majirani zake na mataifa mengine duniani pamoja na taasisi mbalimbali za kimataifa na kuendelea kutafuta marafiki wapya kwa manufaa ya taifa.

MASTER OF COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT (MCM) IN KIGALI
Signing of MOU between KIST, UKTA & ITU
MCM is a one year Master’s programme run jointly by United Kingdom Telecommunications Academy (UKTA), International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). The MCM programme at KIST has been externally examined by the Professor from University College London in United Kingdom, and is delivered by highly qualified Professors from the United Kingdom (UK).
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum entrance requirement to the MCM Programme at KIST is an honours bachelor degree (lower second class equivalent to 60% and above) in ICT related courses such as computer science/engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunications engineering or electromechanical engineering, plus at least two years working experience in ICT and/or telecommunications industry.

the deadline for application is 30th September 2010,
successful applicants will be notified in October 2010 and
the programme will commence in January 2011.
